IELTS Test types
IELTS Academic is for people planning to pursue higher education or professional registration in a country where English is spoken (including students studying for a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in the UK, where a Student visa is required). It features vocabulary commonly used in academic settings.
IELTS for UKVI Academic is for people planning to study a pre-sessional English course or foundation programme in the UK that necessitates a Tier 1 or Tier 2 visa or seeking professional registration in the UK. Students wishing to study for a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in the UK can also choose to take this test as well.
IELTS General Training is for individuals seeking secondary education, vocational training, employment, or migration to English-speaking countries such as Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and the US (besides the UK) (please note that some countries may require the IELTS Academic test for some sort of migration qualification assessment). It emphasises everyday English language skills needed in social and professional contexts.
IELTS for UKVI General Training is for individuals intending to study (below degree level in the UK with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 visa), work or migrate to the UK.
The IELTS for UKVI Academic and General Training tests are designed to meet specific administrative requirements outlined by the UK Home Office and are taken at a UKVI-approved test centre. These tests are suitable for individuals applying for the Student, Innovator, Skilled Worker, or Minister of Religion (T2) visa.
The differences between IELTS and IELTS for UKVI
1) Video recording is used in registration and testing rooms for UKVI tests, including the speaking test.
2) There is a unique UKVI number in Test Report Forms due to visa requirements for UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI).
3) Test fees.
4) Centre and test availabilities.
5) Different purposes. IELTS is for global use, whereas IELTS for UKVI is solely for the UK.
However, both types of tests are the same in content, format, scoring, and difficulty level.

Instructions
Step 1: Please email all the information above to team@aheadachiever.com to register for an IELTS test. Alternatively, you can visit our Macau or Birmingham offices (pre-booking is required).
Step 2: Pay us the IELTS test fee via e-wallets (e.g., MPay), bank transfer or cash. We will not charge any additional fees other than the test fee itself.
Step 3: We will complete your registration within one working day. Once booked, you can change your password on the British Council or IDP websites and start to practise for the IELTS exam using their online platform.
Notes
1. Test candidates are responsible for checking with the organisation, institution or immigration solicitor to determine which IELTS test they should take.
2. Ensure the passport information you provided to us is correct.
3. Please contact your test provider for cancellations, refunds, or transfers. Then notify us, and we will refund your money if you cancel the test.
